Kelis has always been a bit fierce. (C'MON WHO DIDNT ENJOY SINGING 'MILKSHAKE' OR 'CAUGHT OUT THERE'?) I like that she iss more than the generic r&b (YEAH. YOU AMERIE/CASSIE etc.) and most of the time, her hair is SO YUM. ANYWAY she has a a new video out for 'acapella' (the song is a bit naff) but it looks FIERCE. so i thought 'why stop there?' AND I CRAMMED ALL ME FAVE KELIS VIDEOS IN THIS WEE BOX. (got them from loads of different websites so may be shite qaulity but its the thought that counts right?)

AHAHAHA THIS PHOTO IS FIT FOR PUNNING. I had to stop myself from putting "ive got the whole world in my hands" as the title (because FIRSTLY, it brings be back to old school assembly choirs and SECONDLY, it suggested that i was God which i thought was so blatantly narcissistic - but true -  that i couldnt possibly get away with it. Also, if i claimed to be God, i'd get the whole christian community on my ass. and thats just not fun. AND THIRDLY (wow. thats a strange sounding word) its just completely unfunny... yet ive managed to write a mini fucking dissertation on it). 

Anyway, it looks more like i have a gargantuan, bulbous abscess on my face, complete with continents of its own BUT, IT SERVES A PURPOSE. 

That purpose is to illustrate my point.

i think it is the impending New York venture that has brought on my fascination with globe trotting. Or it could also be that my dream of being Amelie Poulain (French), or Ofelia and her crazy labyrinth friends (Spanish) or Björk (icelandic) or a Moomin (finnish). OR it could be the fact that my habit of subconsciously copying EVERYTHING my sister does, means that i want to travel the world EXACTLY HOW SHE DID. WHILE DRESSING LIKE HER. AND PRETENDING TO BE HER. twitch twitch.

A N Y W A Y, i have impatient feet that want to leave footprints all over the world. FIRSTLY, NEW YORK. "If i can make it there, I can make it anywhere..."

BABY STEPS/ THATS SO GINGHAM

I have a habit of being a sporadic creator. I get bursts of motivation and on those (very) rare occasions I ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING WITH MY LIFE. This time, i grabbed some Laura Ashley gingham (i had just, y'know, lying around) and throttled it under my sewing machine and out came (a severely cropped and wonky) ...thing. I felt quite proud of my achievements so i felt the need to document it:

Yes, as you can see, i went to extra lengths to cover my face. If you know me (and/or have seen me), THEN YOU UNDERSTAND. I think the flower headbands are a worthy compensation. I bought them yesterday and bought three of them as i was convinced they would contribute to my life. They did. Im patting my back right now in a congratulatory manner. Brava. 

PERFECTION MUCH?/ A WORTHY SUCCESSOR

So. Yeah. Gareth pugh has been rumoured to be the designer to take over the  McQueen brand. AND THAT IS COOL WITH ME. (he might venture into COLOURED CLOTHING... although his monochrome is his 'thing' and is fierce.... BUT COLOUR ---- @LadyinLeopard YOU GET ME)

Im actually really happy that the brand is continuing and im hoping it will become a platform for new faces and collaborations.


I knew this blog was missing something, so now is the perfect oppurtunity to fill the void with shitloads of pictures of GARETH (and his work..... LOVE HIM).

If you didn't know him already then youll probably recognise the celebrities that have worn pugh so far: pour example, Lady gaga wore the above triangular masterpiece somewhat pictured above^ , beyonce wore shit loads of pugh for the 'diva' vid and her EMA performance and daphne guinness is always impartial to a bit of Gareth. AREN'T WE ALL, DAHLING. (ugh. i hate myself sometimes.)

But LOOK. A gareth video for his fall/winter 2009 (he didn't do a regular runway show because he thought it didn't best show off his work). Although, as previously mentioned- beyonce is a fan, and her vid for 'sweet dreams' looks very similar to this video. HIGHLY SUSPISH. looks like someone took some 'inspiration' form the PUGH. Not like i blame her....

My favourite looks from the CSM MA graduate collections were Lily Heines muted layering (obvs--- muted AND layering YET MINAMILSTIC AT THE SAME TIME- genius).

They were all fecking amazing but she was probably standout fave for me.
